Movement
Composition: I took a photo of a bouncing baseball which creates movement in this photo. You can see the ball is dropping from the top to the bottom, and also a “shadow” of the baseball just like there are two balls. The movement of the baseball holds your attractions.
Contrast:  Since it is blurred by the movement, there is no big contrast in this photo. But you can see the background is darker than the baseball.
Communication: This photograph communicates energetic. As the baseball is dropping down, and creates a movement, so it is so energetic.

Essential Questions

How did studying photography design help me become a better photographer?

Studying Photography have definitely  helped me to become a better photographer. I learnt more about the elements of Art, principles of Art, camera/subject placement, contrast and also clarity. Before I did not even know there are that much of photography design terms. We have to change the shutter speed or the aperture in order to capture an object clearly. Besides I also learned the camera orientation, the focus and different perspectives can affect how a photo is composed.

How was I environmentally conscious in the project?

This project is using websites-blogs, but not using any papers to hand in, so it is environmentally friendly. I did not waste any papers and inks by printing out. What I did was just take pictures, get it from my camera and then upload it into this blog.

Did I have any challenges with technology while doing this project? Did u solve them?

Yes , I had challenges with technology while doing this project. At first I was so confused with this blog, I could not find the buttons I need, and not really sure how to upload photos, replace a photo or even write a post. But then I tried to figure out by clicking around and asking my friends. I had spent a lot of time to take an appropriate photo with illustrates the design aperture. I did not know which one i should pick. I solved this problem by trying different times to get the most suitable shutter speed and aperture.

Space
Composition: I took a picture of a baseball on my sofa. I left a lot of space on the right, so it will lead your eyes to the baseball on the left.
Contrast: This photo has a big contrast with the darks and lights. The baseball has a sharp color(white) while the background has a dark color(dark red). Also, the baseball has two tones, half of it is darker than the other half, so once again it will catch your attention.
Communications: This photograph communicates lonely and isolation. The baseball is staying alone in the corner.

Close Up
Communication:  I arranged this necklace as an “O” shape to lead our eyes to the point of interest which are the pendents. Also i have closed up on them, so the objects look larger and with more details. Which will direct us to the focal point.
Contrast: The pendents are darker than the background, so it will highlight the point of interest, and you will be caught by the shinny face between the darks and lights too. Also, the pendent on the right has color on it, so it has hold your attention.
Communication: This photo communicates the elegant of this necklace. The sharp and shinny suface gives you an elegant mood.

Contrast - High Value
Composition: I took a picture of this colourful glass. I arranged my composition so that the foreground leads our eyes to the point of interest, which is the banana on the glass. Flash is used in this photo, so it is high value and will catch more of your attention.
Contrast: I relied on the contrast of tones to emphasis my focal point. The foreground and the glass is very soft in tone whereas the focal point has a sharp contrast between them.
Communication: This photograph communicates joyful mood. It is because i used flash in this picture, and then it will sharpen the colour of the fruits, and make the photo more colourful and joyful.

blurry
Composition: I took a picture of a ruler, because you will know this photo is blurred by looking at the numbers on it. I used large aperture for this photo, in order to make things blurry. Everything in this photo is blurred, like the ruler, the words on the paper and also the keyboard.
Contrast: The ruler is the point of interest. I chose a black ruler to emphasis it. This photo only has two colour, which are black and white. A light tone in the background can highlight where the focal point is and would not blend them together.
Communication: The picture communicates a frustration mood. Since the contrast is not as strong as the other ones, and they are a bit vague, so the blurriness will give you a frustrated mood.
